Idan Barir

I am a PhD Candidate at the School of Historical Studies and the Department of Middle Eastern and African History at Tel Aviv University. Am Currently working on my dissertation about Kirkuk in the late Ottoman period.

PhD Candidate (2010-present) at The School of Historical Studies, Tel Aviv University. Topic of dissertation: A City in Reform, Reform in the City: Kirkuk in the Late Ottoman Period, 1864-1918; Advisor: Professor Ehud R. Toledano.

MA in Middle Eastern History  at Tel Aviv University (2007-2009). Thesis Title:This is Our Story: The Yezidi Cultural Movement and the Processes of a Collective Identity Constructing among the Yezidis in Kurdistan and the Diaspora; Advisor: Professor Ofra Bengio). Summa cum laude.
